At CDC, we aspire to cultivate a sense of belonging in an environment where everyone is empowered to be themselves. In 2022, we signed the Nonprofit Partnership’s DEI Pledge and our leadership team embarked on a transformative journey with Tesha Nesbit, a valued Board Member, Certified Business Coach and Human Resource Development Professional, to ensure that we create an environment where all employees, students and their families feel heard, valued and supported. More specifically, our goal is to cultivate a deeper understanding of diverse perspectives, experiences and cultures.
We believe that we have a lot to learn from the children enrolled across our centers, who welcome their peers with open arms, regardless of variations in ability, race, ethnicity, family dynamic, morals, values or beliefs. The monthly sessions with Tesha facilitated open discussion, education and self-reflection, allowing us to collectively develop a comprehensive plan for driving inclusivity across all aspects of our organization.
This initiative is a testament to our ongoing commitment to promote equitable opportunities and to provide a safe and nurturing space for all to thrive. As we move forward, we will continue to integrate the valuable insights we gained throughout our training into practices, policies and all interactions, ensuring that our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is woven into the fabric of our organizational culture.
"My daughter is loving school. . .it has helped her a lot since she was a COVID kid and didn't have much interaction with people or go places. She seemed to fit right in and loved going and loved her teachers. She does have a speech problem and the school is working hard with her and I have seen a lot of progress. I feel the teachers and faculty is wonderful and wouldn't change a thing. I can't wait for next year when she returns for another school year. I am so proud to say my child is one of your students and I highly recommend this school. Thank you for all you do for my daughter!"
"My son was barely speaking at the beginning of the year and now he is talking so much we can't get him to stop! We are so pleased with the amazing progress he's had from the school and the teachers. He loves going to school and seeing his friends and teachers."
"My child loves his classroom teachers and the routines and activities. He loves singing and he loves the lessons he is learning. He really appreciates the safety and routine of his school day. He loves also to play outside."
"I adore this school and the people who work here. My child loves it, and they truly care for him. He has food allergies and they go above and beyond in making sure his needs are met. The teachers are exceptional, kind, very smart, and communicate well."
